Getting to know our job.

So the last two weeks we have been getting to know our "job".  As mentioned in earlier posts, mine is driving the car while Pat takes care of the missionaries.  So this is dad.  He doesn't always have on a white shirt and tie but this is what he does no matter the attire.  I should indicate that he also has a phone between his shoulder and ear most of the time listening either to a Mission Medical Coordinator (mission mom) or a Missionary.  We are seriously working on some sort of headphone and mic so that he will not have a permanently crooked neck.  He did do some teaching on the "common cold and Influenza" over the past two weeks.  The main idea is to get them to get their shots so the don't become carriers to the very young (3 and under) and the elderly (65 and above)  hard to write that term "elderly" just never think of myself that way.

sugar cane field

Over in Louisiana we drove by lots of sugar cane.  I didn't know it but sugar cane is one of the top products for Louisiana.  Field after field of sugar cane, in the rain, for mile after mile.

Panama City

Port Walton Beach

Then on to the beach cities of Florida.

We didn't get to the beach but we did see them as we passed by.  Beautiful!  They call this the Emerald Coast and you can see why because of the green water.

Isn't that white sand fabulous?

These two cities were predicted to be in the path of Isaac but it seems he is moving slightly to the west and will now make land fall some where about Mobile or Biloxi.  However they are moving the Elders out of New Orleans and surrounding towns to stay with others in the more up land areas.

So all in all it was 11 days of Zone Conferences, New Orleans, rain and driving.  We were glad to be home on Friday.

We got a call on our housing today but things have not progressed as Jana thought they would and so we will go over tomorrow before we leave for the Tampa Zone Conferences to see what has been done and what still has to be done.  Tampa for 3 days next week and then through until November.

Well doesn't he look great sitting there in his white shirt. :) Never seen a sugar cane plant before--pretty cool.

Thank you for the email! I have had so much fun catching up on you guys! The alligator truck is too funny.. i was also not aware that some gators were NOT a nuisance! As for Dr Rose in the white shirt, he looks perfectly normal to me! Thats how we know him! So fun, thanks for sharing!!
